Our CPD support for teachers has been carefully selected to ensure it is appropriate and affordable, so our registered candidates will benefit from heavily discounted rates on both our chosen CPD partnerships. Keeping up to date with new policies and changes in legislation, particularly safeguarding is vital within the classroom, this knowledge can also build confidence to deal with difficult situations.

According to surveys and reports the rise of mental health issues experienced by teachers and pupils is continuing to increase. This places a lot of education staff in the frontline of identifying early signs of pupil mental ill health and preventing it.

Results from a recent NASUWT’s wellbeing at work survey where teachers reported the following.

Our partnerships

As a specialist education recruitment agency, we recognise the importance of supporting and developing supply staff to help manage mental health issues in the classroom.

With the above in mind, we have partnered with two established and outstanding organisations to offer our candidates access to CPD courses to support their development, Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust who specialises in the emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and their families and CPD Online College who offer a wide range of safeguarding, wellbeing and subject specific courses.

Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust

In response to these identified challenges, we have partnered with experts to deliver bespoke CPD training. Northorpe Hall Child and Family Trust is a West Yorkshire-based charity specialising in the emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and their families. As specialists with years of experience, they take a holistic approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health, that involves parents, carers, schools, and colleges.

Live interactive courses

Training sessions aim to enhance knowledge, understanding, and confidence across a wide range of topics, along with practical strategies to use in any classroom setting. Delivered online via Teams, training goes beyond just watching a video, and has opportunity for interaction, discussion, and questions. All training is delivered by Helen Parker, a wellbeing Learning and Development Lead, Northorpe Hall. Helen, has a background in Education, including head teachership, as well as expertise in children and young people’s mental health.

CPD support for teachers in mental health courses

All courses are open to our registered supply staff at a subsidised rate of a 20% discount.  Courses last about 1.15 hours but will vary due to the interaction and option to ask questions, access is via TEAMs.

CPD support for teachers development log

Every fully registered teacher who teaches for 20 days or more per calendar year is required to complete 20 hours of professional development. It is good practise to have a current PDR to demonstrate to employers how you keep your professional development up to date as well as helping you plan for future work, develop your career path and identify further training or development.  We have developed a CPD learning log for your convenience, where you can log and track your learning hours and save any document, this is available to all registered candidates.
