First for Education are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated Playworkers in Sandwell to work in the after school club provision at one of our client schools. You need to be able to work flexibly across the week for them depending on the demands of the provision, there may also be the opportunity to pick up more work at this school supporting them during school holidays within their holiday club provision.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing a varied, stimulating and exciting range of activities that meet the children’s developmental needs.
  • Ensuring the facility is ready for use, by setting up and clearing away.
  • Working as part of a highly motivated and professional team.
  • Establishing positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Working in close partnership with other staff.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a Playworker, Childcare or TA qualification.
  • Safeguarding Certificate or be willing to get one.
  • DBS on the update service / willing to apply for one
  • Be able to work between the hours of 3-6pm.
  • Adhere to and promote all school policies.
  • Safeguard children and promote health and safety.
  • Promote good practice in a professional and inclusive manner.
  • Maintain a close liaison with class teachers in order to be aware of and respond appropriately to the needs of all children in your care
